Gill's Bucket List
Where do I get my travel inspiration from?
When time allows, I can be a bit of a bookworm. I love a good travel book (Lonely Planet or Marco Polo) as well as fictional & non-fictional novels. Especially ones which touch on the past, pull on the heart strings, or want to make you get up and go. You’ll see some of my book inspirations called out within my bucket list pages; why I like them, and where you can get a copy.
I used to travel a little bit with my old job – just quick flights to Belfast or Glasgow, and of course, when holidaying with Luke and family & friends. There’s nothing better than getting excited about your next adventure on the way back from your current one. Grab that in-flight magazine!
Luke and I like nothing more than to sit in front of the TV with a cuppa after dinner. We can mostly be found watching the latest travel programmes (Travel Man: 48 hours in…, the Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan, or anything by Simon Reeve); programmes that happen to be filmed abroad (such as The Grand Tour, or Race Across the World); or Luke’s favourite, a fishing programme (if you haven’t watched it, I encourage you to please…Gone Fishing with Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse. It’s a beauty!)
And last but by no means least… social media; there’s something special about getting ideas from family and friends who have been there and done that.
