Budapest packing list

When pulling together my Budapest packing list, I wrote down what I'm going to be getting up to; how much walking, the different types of activities I'll be doing, what the weather may throw at me, and even consider getting stuck for an extra night. That way I'm not just looking through my wardrobe thinking, I like that, I'll take it - but making it more specific, space saving for a small cabin bag allowance, and planning mix & match outfits.

Friday after work
2 hour journey to the airport hotel for the night = comfy clothes for the car, and making sure that I pack my PJs, and undies at the top of the cabin bag! There's nothing worse than getting all excited and packing them first (AKA at the bottom) and having to unpack everything.
Saturday
Fly to Budapest. Lots of walking, seeing the sights on the Buda side, and a nice meal in the evening. Comfy, loose clothing, trainers, layers. Then a nice dress and pumps for the evening with a denim jacket that works with other outfits as a layer too.
Sunday
Walking tour of Pest and a river Danube dinner cruise in the evening. More of the same; comfy clothes, trainers, layers and a dress and pumps for the evening.
Monday
Spa, a chimney cake making workshop and travel home. The priorities here are the spa and the journey home. I checked with the hotel what would be supplied for the spa - bathrobe and slippers; so all I needed was a costume. For the workshop, I knew we had very little time between that and the flight home - so it was easy to decide to wear a similar outfit to Saturday, comfy, loose clothing, trainers and a layer or 2.
I took a spare daytime outfit "just in case" and packed additional underwear and socks.

What did I need -
For the first time, I didn't think "oh I wish I packed for this". Which is a mini miracle.
However, I did use the hotel toiletries. If I could have (i.e. if liquid allowance allowed), I would have taken my own Shampoo and Conditioner... but it all worked out fine.
